Reminders are the office day book. Not jobs. Not Planner events. They never change a schedule or payroll, so a note such as "Van MOT - drop to garage 8am" or "Call back John Smith" stays off the board and off timesheets.
Add a reminder from Calendar (click a day, then Add reminder), from Planner → Notes, or from the dashboard. Time and person are optional. Tick it done from any of those places. The person it is for gets a bell notification the morning it is due. Adding and ticking use the Manage reminders permission, which is on by default.
